New Management Policies

New Management Changes

  • All cars will have sponsors announced at least once per night.
  • Trophy girls and cars will be returning for the trophy dashes.
  • Some type of inversion pill will be drawn every night in the modified division. Pill numbers will be 8 – 14. This means that fast time can possibly start in 8th place.
  • Pit gates will be opening up at 10 am. No more long lines and getting kicked out to come back in.
  • Racing will be starting on a normal night at 6:30 pm.
  • Fan appreciation nights April 12th and July 26th. Adults $5 Kids $3.
  • Price for the front gate will be the same all year.
  • A new gate will be installed in turn 2 to prevent exit on a green flag. This gate will be closed during green flag conditions and opened on yellow flags for the cars to get in the pits for repairs.
  • This year we have many new officials. Please help us welcoming all returning and new officials.
  • Minors will have separate wristbands this year.
  • With the help of the Track Shack we will be having better quality food. We will also introduce a signature Chili Cheese Hot Dog for Lakeport Speedway.
  • Parking on the infield after the races will be returning if the infield is not too muddy. Please help us get this going again for the fans.
  • The entire main grandstand is now a non-smoking area. Please show our patrons the respect by not smoking in this area. The right side is still the family section with no smoking or drinking in this section.
  • There will be no tolerance for marijuana smoking. If anyone is caught they will be escorted out of the facility. Please show respect to others and don’t smoke marijuana on the facility.
  • We will be offering more kids based activities in the stands.
  • There will be more community involvement (i.e. little league night, fan appreciation night, boy/girl scout night, etc.).
  • No more monetary fines. All penalties will have community service hours associated with it.
  • No tolerance of fighting of any kind.
  • The Red Trailer is here to stay.
  • Kid’s rides will be May 24th and July 26th.
  • Transponders will be used in all divisions.
  • There is a new look for the NCRA Office at the Speedway.
  • Products give away at the pit meetings every week. Must be present to win.
  • Destruction Derbies twice this year.
  • Boat Races will happen 4 times this year.
  • A suggestion box will be put out. Please suggestion ideas to help better our track.
  • Recyclable containers will be put out in the pits. Please use these containers as the money received from recyclables will be put toward the point’s fund.

Bomber Changes

  • Best points fund ever. A car will be donated to the point’s champion.
  • New Bomber Tire. Goodyear 7″ tire.
  • Random prizes will be given with each main event.

Modified Changes

  • Points champion will receive $1500 to win.
  • Some main events will be 40 & 50 laps – May 10th – 40 Laps, May 25th – 40 laps, June 21st – 40 laps, July 5th – 50 Laps, Aug 23rd – 50 laps.
  • Some main events will be $800 – $1000 to win – May 10th – $800, May 25th – $1000, June 21st – $1000, July 5th, $1500, Aug 23rd – $800.
  • GM Crate Motor introduced into the division.

Street Stock / Bonus Bomber Changes

  • 9 races and 2 open shows this year to give the class a chance to improve car counts.
  • Chuck and Kevin Sabol are working on getting a car or truck donated to give to the point’s champion.
  • Rules will be review after the year is over then set for 3 years pending car counts.

Mini-Stock Changes

  • 6 races and 2 open shows this year to give the class a chance to improve car counts.
  • Mini Stocks is still an NCRA Class.
  • No purse this year. If an NCRA member and are here the race before driver and 1 crew member will get in free.
  • Davey Coyne is Class Representative only.
  • Rules will be reviewed after the year is over pending car counts.

Boat Changes

  • A mandatory Brake light must be attached to the roof.
  • Fan based selection for the winner.
  • 2 people maximum for small cars and 4 people maximum for large cars.
  • No small cars allowed for 2009.
  • 24 feet maximum length for boats.
  • Doors must be welded shut. This will be enforced.

N.C.R.A. Rookie of the Year
  1. Applicant must complete the proper application no later than the 3rd scheduled N.C.R.A. points race. Application to be turned in at pit gate or Lakeport Speedway business office.

  2. Applications must be approved by the N.C.R.A. Board of Directors.

  3. Applicant must be a member in good standing of the Northern California Racing Association.

  4. Applicant must be a first-year driver in the Bomber, Mini-Stock or Modified classes, and applicants cannot step back a class (Example – Modified drivers may not apply for rookie status in the Mini-Stock or Bomber classes; Mini-Stock drivers may not apply for rookie status in the Bomber class.)

  5. Applicant cannot have driven more than five races in the class for which they are applying.

  6. Bomber Class: Rookie of the year – car must be registered as a rookie car. All drivers must be rookie drivers to run for Rookie of the Year.
