All of our rules share a common format with rule categories that appear in the same order. This allows classes to be compared category by category, eases finding all of the details about a specific area, and makes end-of-season review and modification clearer and easier.

Within the rules, all actual rule changes from the previous year (not spelling, wording, or format changes) are highlighted in gray. The following Change Summaries on this page list the important highlights and do not specify every little rule change.

For anyone who has not seen the symbol before, “§” stands for section or category. So §1.3 means section 1.3 in the rules.

N.C.R.A.-N.S.R.A. General Rules

Note that each “King of the Hill Challenge Series” sanctioning body (N.C.R.A. and N.S.R.A.) manages each speedway seperately. Any general rule issues that occur at or involve a speedway must be handled by the sanctioning body for that speedway: N.C.R.A. for Lakeport and N.S.R.A. for Ukiah.

Change Summary

• §4.2: The minimum driver age for Jammers, Bombers, and Mini-Stocks has been lowered to 13. Speedway management can grant exceptions for ages 13 to 15 for the Street Stock, Modified, and Late Model classes.
• §8.5: The speedway management can assign infraction fine values and community service hours as appropriate.
• §9.4: Start and restart line-ups will be derived from the transponder system and score sheets.
• §9.7: Any car without a properly working transponder will not be scored. For this reason, transponders must be in working condition during and after hot laps. Any car without a transponder will be black flagged.
• §11.9: Head and Neck Restraints – Mandatory for all drivers under the age of 18 in all divisions (i.e. Hans, G-Force, Srs-1, Hutchens, Simpson D-cel).

All Classes

• A rear fuel line shut-off valve is no longer required.
• Head and neck restraints are required for all racers aged 13 to 18, and are strongly recommended for all others.

N.C.R.A.-N.S.R.A. Modifed Rules

N.C.R.A.-N.S.R.A. Mini-Stock Rules

Change Summary

• §1.4: All parts can now be stock, instead of OEM, unless otherwise specified.
• §3.1.3: (removed) Weight will no longer be added to the main event winners.
• §6.1.3: Aftermarket body parts or kits are allowed if they retain stock appearance within the manufacturer’s line (For example: an aftermarket Ford Taurus nose can be used on a Ford Pinto).
  These body parts must still be made from the same material and thickness as the OEM part. No plastic or fiberglass if the OEM part was steel.
• §7.3.6: A driver-side door plate is now required.
• §8.11:  Dual valve springs are allowed if stock, or with a 25 lb. weight penalty.
• §8.13: A distributorless ignition system is allowed if stock, or with a 75 lb. weight penalty.

N.C.R.A.-N.S.R.A. Bomber Rules

N.C.R.A.-N.S.R.A. Street Stock Rules
