Pro-4 Modifieds
The Pro-4 Modified fast time of 13.691s was set by Jake Tillman from Cobb, who also won the trophy dash.
Neo Nuno and Kevin Barba led the 11 car field to the main event start. Both were freight-trained back inside by Codi Barba, Tillman, Andy Leuzinger, John Barker, Willie Leuzinger, and Curtis Lewis. Tillman had just taken the lead from C. Barba when a lap seven caution, thrown when Nuno’s car died on the frontstretch, closed the field back up.
Tillman took the lead inside Tillman, and was followed by Barker and W. Leuzinger. In lap 13, Tillman suddenly retired his car to the turn four infield with problems. W. Leuzinger took another six laps to swing outside Barker and take the lead on the frontstretch.
Barker tried to keep up, but was slowed by lapped traffic. W. Leuzinger from Cobb finished first, followed by Barker, A. Leuzinger in a last-lap pass by C. Barba, and Lewis.
Legends Cars Series
Cody Martin from Ukiah set the Legends fast time of 15.070s and almost swept the night’s events, winning the trophy dash and main event.
Brian Martella and Joe Aiken, who won the heat race, led the start. Aiken took the lead from the outside as Martin leap-frogged Martella for second. Aiken held a solid groove until, in lap 10, he slipped loose in turn one allowing Martin to pass him on the inside.
Aiken chased Martin for all he was worth, trying to find grip on every part of the track. In the last lap, he lost it on the exit of turn two and spun 360º on the backstretch, but recovered. Martin crossed victorious followed by Martella, Aiken, Randy Portlock, and Chelsea Champagne.
Modifieds
The Modified fast time of 13.355s was set by Darrin Knight from Kelseyville, who also won his heat race.
Norman Boucher and Gary Lowblad held the main event poll row and ran side-by-side for four laps until Lowblad completed the pass for the lead on the frontstretch. Bob Strauss was running in third ahead of Tommy Lyndall and another side-by-side battle between Clay Caturegli and Corey James for fifth when Trevor Cristiani spun out in turn four collecting Terry McIntire and Knight while Dustin DeRosier dodged high. Knight was forced to retire.
Lowblad and Boucher led the restart running ahead of Strauss, James, and DeRosier while Lyndall and Caturegli were shuttled to the back on the outside. In lap 13, Caturegli spun out in turn two for another caution.
When Lowblad and Boucher again led the restart into turn one, Boucher’s car simply did not turn and went straight over the berm and into the back wall. He was ok and rejoined the field in the back. Lowblad and Strauss led three restarts, but were set back one row for bad starts, and Lowblad retired to the pits.
James took the lead inside points leader DeRosier on the restart. Terry McIntire swung inside DeRosier, in front of Strauss, and got a great dig out of turn two to pass DeRosier for second. Strauss had just taken third inside DeRosier when Tommy Lyndall blew an oil seal for the last caution.
James and McIntire ran side-by-side for four laps while DeRosier and Cristiani got by inside Strauss. In lap 22, McIntire broke loose with a turn four wiggle allowing James to sail on by. James from Laytonville claimed the checkers followed by McIntire, DeRosier, Cristiani, and Strauss.
Street Stocks
Andy Vander Veer from Santa Rosa set the Street Stock fast time of 14.470s. Wade Coleman and Tony Romazotti led them to the main event green. Romazotti had a ¾ car length lead outside of Coleman entering turn three when a rear-and-front fender touch sent Coleman into a wiggle that slowed him back into Scott Sabol and Kenny Spencer while Andy Vander Veer dodged high.
After a visit to the pits by Sabol and Coleman, Romazotti took the lead inside Spencer on the restart. Ron Duke Sr. was shuttled back as Jared Martin took second from Spencer on the backstretch. Vander Veer and Sabol followed while Martin slowly made his way outside Romazotti.
In lap 12, Martin finished his pass for the lead followed, in three more laps, by Vander Veer and Sabol. Martin and Vander Veer traded paint for the next 12 laps in a pitched battle for the lead. In lap 28, Martin spun out exiting turn two for the last caution.
On the restart, Sabol took the outside lead while Coleman faded on the outside. At the checkers, it was Sabol from Lakeport followed by Vander Veer, Romazotti, Spencer, and Martin.
Bombers
The Bomber fast time of 15.204s was set by Dylan Rose from Lakeport. The main event start was led by Kevin Brackett and Jimmy Gard. Mike Bray and Travis Brown chose to start in the back. Gard, who had been plagued by mechanical problems all week and day, was very slow on the outside and everyone dove inside to pass him by.
Brackett had the lead. Jimmy Sorrels and Mike Rose (driving for Roman Rose) got by Brenton Smith before he could get inside. M. Rose swung outside Sorrels and was advancing on Brackett when D. Rose drifted high in turn three, colliding with and spinning Smith for a caution.
M. Rose took the inside lead on the restart and Brackett settled in behind him. As Brown pushed D. Rose back on the outside, Smith swung outside Sorrels to fight for third in front of George Abella. However, when Sorrels left an inside opening in his fight with Smith, Abella pounced passing both for third and followed by D. Rose into fourth.
Abella made an outside pass by Brackett for third, and then Brackett got stuck in the outside groove after lapping KC Norton and was passed by D. Rose, Sorrels, and Smith. In lap 15, he spun out in turn three for a caution.
M. Rose restarted with the lead inside the lapped Gard, who pushed the outside line of D. Rose (that’s right – third time back), Sorrels, and Brackett back. In lap 20, D. Rose had dropped in behind, took the inside line from, and passed Smith for third. Sorrels and Bracket ran hard for fifth until Sorrels drifted high onto the turn two berm allowing Brackett to pass.
M. Rose from Lakeport crossed first followed by Abella, D. Rose, Smith, and Brackett.
Bandoleros
Darrin Silva from Ukiah set the Bandolero fast time of 15.204s. Lukus Buzzard and Frankie Pickrell were on the poll row for the main event start. After one false start and a three-wide pass by Silva and Tim Buzzard Jr. around L. Buzzard that resulted in a Chris Crow spin (three-wide passes are normal for the smaller Bandoleros), L. Buzzard and Pickrell were battling for the lead, and Hunter LaRue and Silva were battling for third ahead of T. Buzzard.
In lap eight, LaRue wiggled loose exiting turn four and ground to a stop along the frontstretch wall with a broken right-front wheel. Another caution followed one lap later when Trystan Mucci spun out in turn two.
Silva took the lead outside L. Buzzard on the restart. Pickrell and Crow started a pitched 12 lap battle for third. At the line is was Silva, L. Buzzard, Crow by only ½ a car length, Pickrell, and Mucci.
B.C.R.A. Midgets
The Midget fast time of 11.869s was set by Tanner Swanson. Bill Lindsay and Floyd Alvis led the field to the start. Alvis and Nick Foster Jr. touched tail-to-nose, slowing them and the upper line. Nick Chivello passed Lindsay low for the lead.
Foster shot by inside Lindsey forcing Travis Berryhill to dodge high into Lindsey’s back bumper. Foster, John Sarale, Berryhill, and Swanson followed Chivello. Sarale leap-frogged Foster when he clipped the turn three infield apron.
In lap 22, Sarale made the inside pass for the lead by Chivello. When the white flag fell, Chivello tried to nose under Sarale in turn two, but Sarale had already come down and clipped his nose slewing him sideways.
Sarale crossed the line first, followed by Berryhill, Swanson, Foster, and David Prickett while Chivello was left in turn two beating his hands on his steering wheel in frustration.

Late Models
Mike Doss from Nice set the Late Model fast time of 11.734s and won the 75 lap main event. Forrest Kuecker (in his snazzy new black 79) won the fast trophy dash. Jimmy Stillman held the lead first and lost it to Charlie Collins in lap six. Eric Graham and Mike Doss battled for second as Kevin Ostern made a long outside climb up to fourth.
Doss gained the outside of Collins in lap 18 and passed him for the lead, followed by Graham and, eight laps later, Ostern. The pack settled into a long green-flag session during which Ostern made it past Collins on the outside in turn four into third.
After a lap 40 yellow, Ostern gained the outside of Graham, passed him for second in lap 45, and continued past Doss in lap 48 for the lead. After a yellow for a Joey Aiken spin, the leaders were battling in pairs: Doss chasing Ostern for the lead, Graham and Jeremy Hopkins for third, and Collins and Kuecker for fifth.
In lap 60, Doss swung outside Ostern on the backstretch and re-took the lead on the frontstretch. One lap later, Collins was trying to fend off Kuecker’s outside pass when he spun out into the frontstretch infield.
Nine laps later, Doss finished victorious, followed by Ostern, Graham, Hopkins, and Kuecker. For more details on the Airport Auto Brokers Late Models and this race, browse to www.AirportAutoBrokersLateModels.com.
Mini-Stocks
The Mini-Stock fast time of 13.842s was set by Kyle Tellstrom. The track record for Mini-Stocks was reset this week since the old record was made without a restrictor plate, so this time now stands as the new track record. The rest was all Robert Schmidt from Lucerne, winning the trophy dash, his heat race, and the main event.
The bright blue station-wagon of Jay Strugnell took the main event lead as the slower “Fast” Freddy Schmidt pushed the inside line back. After avoiding a fish-tailing Mark Zimmerschied in turn four, and a few cautions, Jessica Aceves took the lead in lap ten followed by R. Schmidt when Don Presler got trapped behind Strugnell.
However, in turn three, Aceves lost grip and spun out inside R. Schmidt. R. Schmidt took the lead and points leader Kyle Tellstrom chased for the rest of the race. At the white flag, Aceves and Jason Pratt finished a nine-lap side-by-side battle by spinning out sending Aceves nose-first into the backstretch wall.
R. Schmidt finished first followed by Tellstrom, Presler, Marcus Hatfield, and John Johnson.
Bombers
Mike Rose from Lakeport (driving for Roman Rose) set a track record fast time of 14.115s. Chuck Hackbarth and Jimmy Shankles (driving for Theresa Sorrels who broke during time-trials) led the start. Shankles drifted back, pushing the outside line of Scott Griffin, Mike Bray, Brenton Smith, and Gary Collins with him.
Rick Tommila swung outside Hackbarth but could not keep up. Jimmy Sorrels swung under and then outside Hackbarth. George Lovrin. M. Rose, D. Rose, Collins, and Smith tucked behind him expecting a quick pass, but Sorrels stayed even with Hackbarth for 12 laps. In lap 15, a caution was thrown for debris in turn three.
Because it was an official’s yellow, the restart was single-file with Hackbarth followed by Sorrels, Dylan Rose, Lovrin, Collins, M. Rose, and Smith. It was called off when Sorrels was put back a position for jumping the start.
Sorrels got stuck behind Hackbarth when D. Rose swung outside followed by Lovrin, Collins, M. Rose, and Smith. Behind D. Rose, Collins was inside Lovrin when they came up to lap KC Norton. Norton was a little high in turn four, so Lovrin went high and Collins low. As Norton came back down on the frontstretch, Collins dove to the apron and made the pass cleanly before turn one.
This put Collins behind Lovrin. In lap 28, he had swung outside when they came up on Norton again. This time, Lovrin dove low on the frontstretch apron as Collins passed high. However, Lovrin did not have enough time to finish the pass before turn one, and he and Norton slewed sideways barely missing M. Rose and Smith who passed along the outside wall.
Lovrin suffered a flat tire and retired. While under the yellow, a huge cloud of smoke suddenly billowed from under the car of Collins. When he was stopped it was discovered he’d blown a seal and was leaking oil. This forced Collins to retire.
After the final green-white-checker, it was D. Rose who won, followed by M. Rose, Smith, Sorrels, and Bray.
Legends Cars Series
The Legends fast time of 14.638s was set by Bob Kuebler. It only took five laps for Jared Martin to take the main event lead from Nick Hammer. With only one caution, the race settled into a long chase between Martin, Kuebler, and James Gilliland.
At the white flag, Gilliland had passed Kuebler for second and then lapped Chelsea Champagne coming out of turn four, but spun out in the final straight just short of the finish behind Martin. Champagne had nowhere to go and hit Gilliland, pushing him across the finish line for second before Kuebler had a chance to catch up. Hammer finished fourth and Bill Kistemmacher fifth.
Champagne was credited with an RBI (Racer Bumped In).
Pro-4 Modifieds
Willie Leuzinger set the Pro-4 Modified fast time of 13.513s and won the trophy dash. The main event lead was first taken by Joe Sloan, then John Barker in lap seven, and finally Leuzinger in lap 12. Codi Barba, Sean Keown, and Sloan dogged the heels of Leuzinger and Barker throughout the caution-free race.
At the white flag, Marty Lewis stalled out and came to a stop high up at the finish line. Normally you do not race to the finish when a yellow flag is thrown, except on the last lap. So, even if the yellow was thrown for Lewis, the racers would have to race to the checkers anyway. Fortunately, everyone saw Lewis up high and the top five finished as they had run.
Modifieds
The Modified fast time of 13.295s was set by Darrin Knight. The rest was all Terry McIntire who won the trophy dash, his heat race, and the main event.
After a collision sent Thomas Wright and Bob Strauss to the back in lap two of the main event, Clay Caturegli and Norman Boucher raced for the lead side-by-side for 15 laps. Boucher had the lead on the outside by a bumper when a caution was thrown when Knight and Trevor Cristiani touched, spinning Cristiani.
Boucher took off with the inside lead followed by McIntire and points leader Dustin DeRosier. In lap 26, Boucher pushed high allowing McIntire to pass low for the lead. However, this was no simple racing error. In turn four, Boucher’s car did not turn and plowed straight into the guard tires sending him airborne down the frontstretch to come to an abrupt stop in front of DeRosier who barely managed to avoid him.
On the restart, McIntire took the lead inside Caturegli and DeRosier followed into second. They finished in that order followed by Corey James and Darrin Knight.
Street Stocks
Scott Sabol set the Street Stock fast time of 14.246s, but suffered mechanical problems for the rest of the night. Andy Vander Veer won the trophy dash and the heat race.
Luke Nelson had the main event lead for a lap when Simi Tour spun in turn three causing Ron Duke Sr. to dodge over the berm and off the track, sending them both to the back. Vander Veer took off with the lead inside Nelson and was followed by Jared Martin. Vander Veer and Martin out-paced the field for seven laps until Mikey Snider spun out in turn two.
Several yellows kept Vander Veer and Martin from leaving the pack behind. Martin tried every trick he could to overtake Vander Veer, and finally spun out in turn three on lap 19. The restart put Martin behind Duke, Wade Coleman, and Simi Tour. Two lap later, Martin and Coleman tangled and spun out.
Vander Veer and Duke were already trading paint when the green fell. When they entered turn one, Duke’s front bumper hooked Vander Veer’s rear bumper, tearing them loose and giving Vander Veer a flat tire. This sent Duke to the back and Vander Veer to the pits for six laps.
Tour had the lead, and a second solo spin-out by Mikey Snider put Martin right behind him. Tour was spun out from contact with Martin in lap 28, and Martin was black-flagged for rough driving. Snider was also black-flagged for three unassisted spin-outs.
This put Vander Veer outside of Duke. Vander Veer executed a classic bump-n-pass on Duke in the last lap for a thrilling finish that had the crowd on their feet, until they were reminded that Vander Veer was still six laps down.
Duke won the race, followed by Nelson, Tour, Martin, and Snider.
Bombers
The Bomber fast time of 15.001s was set by Terry Pittman. The main event started with Jimmy Sorrels leading Darren Groves. Just behind them in turn three, Jimmy Gard, Kevin Brackett, and Mike Bray went three-wide, broke loose, and locked together through turn four and the frontstretch for a caution.
Brandon Powers took the lead from Sorrels in lap four. Two laps later, Sorrels and Brenton Smith made contact, spinning Smith and sending both of them to the rear. On the restart, Powers pushed sending him into Dylan Rose. Rose recovered but Powers spun and Gary Collins dodged off the track to avoid him. Powers and Collins were sent to the rear.
D. Rose had the lead inside Terry Pittman, ahead of George Abella and Matt Gerjets. One more yellow for a David Gatlin spin put Pittman in the lead. Mike Rose (driving for Roman Rose) passed Gerjets for fourth when a couple of yellow flags were thrown. First for a tangle between Clint Stanley and KC Norton, then when Stanley’s wheel decided to race down the frontstretch without him.
Pittman still had the lead on the restart, but Abella and Gerjets had passed D. Rose, and Smith had passed R. Rose for fifth. A lap 21 caution for a Casey Saunders spin set up a six lap side-by-side battle for the lead between Pittman and Abella.
In lap 28, Abella finally completed the pass and went on to claim the checkers. Pittman crossed second, followed by Gerjets, Smith, and D. Rose.
Bandoleros
Darrin Silva set the Bandolero fast time of 15.467s. A collision in the heat race damaged the cars of both Silva and James Stillman forcing Stillman to retire for the night. Silva’s crew worked frantically and got the car up and running just in time for the main event. Silva and Tim Buzzard Jr. outpaced the field and Silva claimed the victory after fending off a last lap challenge from Buzzard.
Modifieds
Mark Marek from Lakeport set the Modified fast time of 12.564s. Tommy Lyndall took the inside lead followed by David Furia, Mike Sullivan, and Bob Strauss. For ten laps the battle between Steve Taylor, Thomas Wright, and Sean Sweeney kept points leader Dustin DeRosier, Noel McCormack Jr. and Mark Marek trapped in the back.
McCormack, Chuck Pruett, and Marek started chipping into the top five until, in lap 17, Lyndall and the lapped car of Mike Linnell collided for a caution that sent Lyndall to the back.
McCormack took the outside lead from Furia as Marek, Sweeney, and Pruett got by Strauss. Marek took second from Furia just before the lapped car of Linnell strung them out, and that’s how they finished.
Street Stocks
The Street Stock fast time of 13.758 was set by Ron Duke Jr. from Redwood Valley. Because of a low car count, the Street Stocks ran with the Bombers with Mikey Snider from Kelseyville placing first ahead of Ron Duke Jr. Snider’s win again puts him in first place in championship points ahead of Andy Vander Veer.
Bombers
George Lovrin from Nice set the Bomber fast time of 14.147s. Chuck Hackbarth and Jimmy Shankles led the field to the main event start. Shankles took the lead for three laps and Mike Neilson for six until Dylan Rose claimed it in lap 10.
Brenton Smith challenged Neilson for second followed by Mike Rose, George Lovrin, and the two Street Stocks Ron Duke Jr. and Mikey Snider. A couple of cautions in laps 12 and 13 put Lovrin to the back and forced Neilson to retire.
Smith took the outside lead on the restart but it was quickly reclaimed by D. Rose. M. Rose followed on the inside of Smith just ahead of Duke and Snider. In lap 18, Smith was outside Duke when they lapped KC Norton. Duke took Smith three-wide around Norton, but there wasn’t enough room and Smith wound up into the wall. Smith had to retire and Duke was sent to the back. This was the second event in a row that second-in-points Smith suffered the hard luck of getting spun-out late in the race.
D. Rose from Lakeport took and kept the lead from M. Rose all the way to the end, followed by the two Street Stocks Snider and Duke. Lovrin finished third, Kevin Bracket fourth, and Mike Bray fifth.
