Thank you to all of the racers, owners and teams who participated in Sunday’s Lakeport Speedway sponsor event at Kelseyville Lumber. We had a great time meeting the community at large, some of them had never been to a race and had never seen a race car up close. There was an estimated crowd of 1,000 – 1,200 people at this 4 hour event, making Kelseyville the place to be in Lake County this weekend. The fans were enjoying getting their pictures taken with the cars and drivers, buying souvenirs and enjoying the BBQ. It had a festival atmosphere with a bounce house for kids and local businesses handing out trinkets. A special thank you to Kelseyville Lumber for hosting us, remember to support our local sponsors.

Calling All Drivers
March 28, 2010 12:00pm – 4:00pm
This is the day to show off your machine, your family, your crew and your community spirit. Lakeport Speedway has planned a “Show and Shine” event at Kelseyville Lumber in Kelseyville for all classes of cars. The fans will be there to photograph and get autographs of their favorite engine jockeys. This is a rare opportunity for the car owners and crew to see up close the crowd that cheers them on.
A motorheads dream! Where else can you see this variety of custom machinery and talk to the talent that builds and races them?
Local businesses and sponsors will be there to check out the upcoming talent, so show them your best! You never know who is looking to become a sponsor. This event should really kick off the racing season, and show the community what we’ve got going down at the track. We will be featuring booths from local businesses and raffle prizes.
98.3 radio fm will be there to give a shout out to all your sponsors
For more information, call David Furia @ 707-799-3044. We will get as many cars in as we can, but space may be limited so get your car registered early.
LET’S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!
Your community based not for Profit Speedway
We have many new and exciting features this year. We will be kicking off with our general membership meeting on March 16th at 7:00 in the Jr. Horseman’s building located at the Lake County Fair Grounds. This year we will be accepting credit cards at the back gate, front gate, and at the Speedway offices for purchases throughout the 2010 racing season. We will be hosting a promotional event at Kelseyville Lumber on Sunday March 28th. Please contact the office for more details or if you want to bring your own car down to participate in kicking off the season.
We are excited to be bringing back the Clover Hydroponics Jammers again for the 2010 season, by offering up two different divisions this year; one for younger more inexperienced people, and one for drivers that have found the class to be fun and have more experience behind the wheel. Also back this year, are the NCRA Modifieds with a very impressive slate of drivers who will be competing for the NCRA points fund after their 10 race season. There have been some adjustments made to the bomber division to help try and level the playing field. We have also decided to keep the bombers on the same 8” Goodyear tire they were on last year. We have released a brand new website that everyone should check out.
We are excited this year to present the Robinson Rancheria Resort and Casino Boat Races, which will consist of 5 races this year at Lakeport Speedway, one of which will be the return of the 2nd annual boat race invitational to be held October 31st at Lakeport Speedway. For the first time in the history at Lakeport Speedway, the Boat Racers will be running for the McAtee’s Marine Repair points fund at the end of the season. The top ten boat racers will be presented a trophy with the top 4 receiving both a trophy and a point fund check, courtesy of McAtee’s Marine Repair. The awards banquet this year will be being held at Robinson Rancheria Resort and Casino in the month of November. If adding the boat racers to the party at the end of the year is not enough to start with, the Speedway will also, for the first time, be presenting trophies and checks to the top 4 Demolition Derby drivers that compete at the Speedway with the top ten in derby points receiving trophies. Yes the destruction derby boys have to polish up their jump suits and come on out in November and party down at the annual awards banquet.
This year the AABLM (Airport Auto Brokers Late Models) will be making many visits to the Speedway this year, including the 22nd Deake Lyndall Memorial To find out more about the AABLM, visit their web site www.AABLM.com. Come out to the track this year and be part of the largest single entertainment venue in Lake County, every little part that people do makes this place bigger and better each and every year.
The excitement abounds at the Speedway with sponsors returning, new sponsors joining and sponsors increasing their support to the Speedway for the 2010 racing season. From all of management and all the sponsors at Lakeport Speedway we are looking for 2010 to be the best season ever.
